Forest Protection with Community Support Program
Protection of forests through people’s participation was also
initiated by Wild
Orissa in the year 1997 as part of its Forest Protection
with Community Support Program. The following forest
protection committees were set up by ‘Wild Orissa’-

Maa Paschimari Panch Mauja Jungle
Surakhshya Samiti, which consisted of representatives of
Godasahi, Kendua, Kusupalli, Gidina and Patia villages of Tangi
block.

Maa Jalanjali Jungle Surakhshya
Samiti, which consisted of representatives of Paik Sahi and
Kantasiri villages of Tangi block.

Maa Duarsuni Jungle Surakhshya
Samiti, consisting of representatives of village Jiripada in
Tangi block.

Maa Dhanitri Jungle Surakhshya
Samiti, consisiting of the representatives of Kadamjhala village
of Tangi block.

Maa Khilamunda Jungle Surakhshya
Samiti, consisting of representatives of Jamuganda, Sankhjodi,
Jaripada, Betuli & Nelipara of Ranpur block.

Jungle Surakhshya Samiti
consisiting of representatives of Bandha Munda, Sirikuti, Tavati
& Vetalava villages of Ranpur block.

Moramari Jungle Surakhshya Samiti
of village Moramari in Tangi block.

Maa Dholarai Jungle Surakhshya
Samiti, consisting of representatives of Kunjuri, Gabadiha,
Malakadhia, Akaspalli, Ostapalli and Belapara villages of Tangi
block.

Ram Rahim Jungle Surakhshya
Samiti, consisting of Dikhitpara and Mahujhara villages of Tangi
block.
