Rare & Medicinal Plantation Program
The Plantation Program of rare and
medicinal plants in urban and semi urban areas in the state was
also initiated in the year 1997. As part of this program many rare
species like Red Sanders, Bijasal, Sandalwood, etc. have been
planted in districts of Khurda, Puri and Cuttack. A medicinal
plants garden set up by Wild Orissa in Bhubaneswar’s premier B. J.
B College campus is also one of the show pieces for the capital
city. Such plantations would help in the long run in
rehabilitation of rare and vanishing species of our flora.
